Dad's Hockey Game

Sunday we went to Dad's hockey game in Findlay. This was the first game we've been able to go to this session because the rest have all been too late on weeknights (he had a lot of 8:40 PM and 10:00 PM games on Mondays and Wednesdays). But this one was on a Sunday at 5:00 PM so we went. Unfortunately, his team didn't win (it was kind of ugly), but we still had fun watching. Here are some pictures.

Here are Syd and Mom sitting in the stands (Brody from next door took the picture - his dad plays on the team too and he sat with us).

Here is Dad playing defense. He's the one with the black helmet and white socks in the off-white and red jersey.

Very sad news...

Monday night we lost a very special member of our family. Our dog Dani, who we've loved and cared for for 11 years, died suddenly and unexpectedly.

Dad and Mom adopted Dani from a beagle rescue group in Ann Arbor in May, 1997. She was 8 months old at the time and has been a major part of our family ever since. She was the first "child" in the family and was treated as such. Dani ate with us, watched TV with us, and slept with us. She even traveled and went on many vacations with us.

Dani had a very laid back personality and let very little bother her. She tolerated kids poking her, chasing her, pulling her ears, and riding her like a horse. She loved sleeping on the back of couches and loved pillows even more. We couldn't have asked for a sweeter dog.

The following picture montage covers Dani's life with us. Some of the pictures are of her and her brother, Bailey. Mom and Dad adopted him in July, 1997 at 6 weeks old. And, of course, there are pictures of Dani with Syd.

We will miss Dani very much.

Superbowl Sunday

We watched the Superbowl this year. It was very exciting for Mom since her New York Giants were in it, and even more exciting when they beat those stupid New England Patriots. We went shopping the day before to get snacks and stuff. Syd insisted she wanted to bake a cake and decorate it for the game. So, we said okay. She made the cake almost entirely by herself. She mixed everything together, poured it in the pan, and decorated it all by herself. As you can see she did a pretty good job.
